Our Chief Communications Officer

Miller spent twelve years working in the front offices of Major League Soccer clubs and most recently as Columbus Crew’s Senior Director of Communications and Broadcast. Throughout his roles over a decade with the Crew, he was responsible for providing strategic communications counsel to key business areas within the company to assist overarching company objectives, serving as primary media contact for Club owners, team Presidents, Head Coaches and professional athletes. Additionally, Miller devised communications planning and strategy surrounding messaging for the construction of the Club’s $300M+ new downtown stadium (Lower.com Field) and $35M+ practice facility (OhioHealth Performance Center) that opened in summer 2021.

Miller gained critical communications experience, including having served as the Club’s official spokesman during the team's potential relocation to Austin, Texas -- ultimately resulting in an ownership and senior leadership transition -- in a 15-month period during 2017-2018. Miller worked with two of the League’s original clubs, serving as a day-to-day media contact with Columbus and previously with the New England Revolution, serving under a total of seven different head coaches in that span.

Interested in helping shape the next generation of communications professionals, Miller has been privileged to serve as a lecturer at The Ohio State University in the School of Communication. His classrooms of Buckeye undergraduates focus on Sports Media Relations and Public Communications Campaigns courses. He serves on the Governing Board of the Sports and Society Initiative within Ohio State’s College of Arts and Sciences and also enjoys providing mentorship in the student-run public relations agency on campus, "the PRactice."


A Boston College graduate (BA, Communication), Miller worked in media relations for the Boston Bruins and New England Patriots prior to his time with the Revolution, gaining additional PR experience as well with the Boston Marathon and Brentford Football Club in England. He earned a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) from The Ohio State University and holds accreditation in public relations (APR) distinction via Universal Accreditation Board.  He also serves on the Board of Directors for the Public Relations Society of America Central Ohio Chapter. A Chicago native, Miller and his wife, Kaitlynn, reside in Central Ohio with their daughter, Addison.

Throughout his career he has always stuck by his legacy statement of “a self-driven man for others with a commitment to accountability, who appreciates generosity and laughter along the way”. Now, after developing the statement in graduate school and leaning on it for his career, he is using it to continue to shape Miller PR Solutions.

  • We linked up with Tim for some communication research surrounding a sports initiative that required a deep look at effective messaging and a content analysis of what had appeared to work in the past. We sought recommendations given Tim's extensive sports background. Specifically, we were looking for a specialized analysis of messaging that intersected sports, sports business, lifestyle and traditional/seasonal coverage on a cause-based campaign. Tim is strategic, smart, and pushed us to provide even more context on specific past earned media wins.   • We had been building a multi-year, company-wide communications campaign and wanted to begin exploring how we bring that more broadly to life externally when we first linked up with Tim.
